Grant Science Olympiad 26-27
Calling all curious 5th through 8th graders and enthusiastic parents - let's build, test, and explore STEM together!
What is Science Olympiad?
Science Olympiad is a national non-profit organization dedicated to improving K-12 science education.
It functions much like a track meet, consisting of distinct team events across various scientific disciplines, including earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering.
The program emphasizes cross-disciplinary teamwork and active, hands-on learning over passive memorization, challenging students to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios.
How does Grant participate?
Our Grant TK-8 program facilitates participation of 5th to 8th grade students in Division B of SciOly.
Instead of everyone doing everything, each student typically specializes in 1 to 2 specific events, allowing them to dive deep into their chosen subjects.
Students usually work in pairs in preparation for and during the competition, ensuring that collaboration, communication, and shared problem-solving are at the core of every challenge.
We are aiming for participation in 8-10 events total for the entire team.
What type of events are there?
What role do parents play?

- Mandatory Training: Mandated reporter course certificate (Here) must be emailed or dropped-off to Grant with background check forms
